Apprenticeships with Prospects: A New Cohort Starts at SHD

ANDERNACH, 4 August 2025: 1 August marked the start of the new apprenticeship year at SHD. On that day, 12 new apprentices began their professional careers at SHD's headquarters in Andernach. Among them: future industrial management assistants, office management assistants, IT specialists for systems integration, application development and, for the first time, data and process analysis, as well as e-commerce management assistants.

On their first day at the Andernach headquarters, a varied onboarding programme awaited them. Alongside an official welcome by Peggy Kücken (Head of Apprenticeship Training), Dietmar Meding (CEO) and Roland Wilmer (Vice President HR), the agenda included an introduction to the company, a tour of the premises and a joint outing to Andernach's town centre: a successful start for gaining first insights and getting to know one another.

We warmly welcome the following new colleagues to SHD: Anakin Weber, Nina Baunach, Nur Cennet Türkel, Adel Mohamed Hassanin, Luca Ben Spangenberg, Felix Ritzdorf, Julian Kokorin, Antonia Nowak, Ben Lindner, Marc Schütz and Dennis Schmidt

Starting a career in the digital future

Those who choose SHD choose a working environment with real development opportunities. The new apprentices, like all other employees, benefit from a strong network within the group, flat hierarchies and a culture that actively encourages exchange and active participation.

For more than 40 years, SHD has been the digitalisation partner of the furniture and kitchen industry and ranks among the sector's innovation leaders. For apprentices in particular, this means hands-on learning in a modern, international and technology-driven environment, with the chance to contribute their own ideas and take on responsibility early.

Strong onboarding for strong careers

“We want to challenge and support our apprentices with varied tasks, real projects and plenty of room for personal development,” says Peggy Kücken. “We place great value on enjoying work, team spirit and the right level of responsibility. Modern tools such as AI are also playing an increasingly important role in training at SHD. Not as a replacement, but as meaningful support in day-to-day work. That is how we prepare young talent for the working world of tomorrow.”
