Seamless Integration of ESL Technology at Möbel Heinrich

ANDERNACH, 5 March 2025: Möbel Heinrich is using electronic price labelling for the first time and benefits from a fully integrated ESL (Electronic Shelf Label) solution that works seamlessly with SHD's merchandise management system and the digital POS advertising platform from Online Software AG. Thanks to the close collaboration of all project partners, the ESL system was successfully implemented within just a few weeks in the specialist product areas of the furniture store in Steinheim.

“Möbel Heinrich is a long-standing customer and user of our MHS merchandise management solution. It was therefore particularly important to us to optimally integrate the ESLs into our merchandise management systems SHD ECORO and MHS,” explains Peter Kattrup, Head of Product Management & E-Commerce at SHD. “Through close coordination with Online Software AG, we were able to manage the integration efficiently and deliver another building block of customer engagement at Möbel Heinrich.”

The goal of the project was to deploy electronic shelf labels (ESLs) of various sizes in the manageable, price-driven specialist product range, fully integrated into our merchandise management system, and to assess both customer acceptance and ease of use. Full integration into the existing IT infrastructure and familiar workflows was essential to the success of the installation.

With the integration of electronic shelf labels, Möbel Heinrich is expanding its already extensive in-store customer communication. Building on the existing IT solutions from SHD and Online Software AG, all stores already operate a comprehensive digital signage network with more than 60 screens, and the print functionality is also used for price and advertising communication. The furniture store in Steinheim, with the complete networking of all output media, is the pioneer and foundation for the company-wide customer engagement concepts on the sales floor.

It was particularly important to us that the ESLs integrate seamlessly into our existing IT landscape and make everyday work easier. The project has shown the potential of this technology, both for more efficient pricing and for modern customer engagement. The insights gained from this project form the basis for further digitalisation steps, up to and including the further networking of our locations.
